The Kijang Graduate Programme (KGP) provides unique exposure to Bank Negara Malaysia's diverse roles in shaping the nation. We offer three tracks under this programme, namely the Graduate Analyst, the Supervision Graduate Analyst, and the Digital Graduate Analyst tracks.

Graduate Analyst
The Graduate Analyst track provides you with a holistic experience of central banking work. You will be rotated across the Bank's three sectors over 18 months, allowing you to discover the possible range of career paths with us:

Monetary Stability
The Monetary Stability Sector formulates and conducts monetary policy to keep inflation low and stable while ensuring that it supports sustainable economic growth. The sector also focuses on promoting an exchange rate regime that best suits Malaysia*s economic circumstances.

Financial Stability
The Financial Stability Sector focuses on ensuring that Malaysia*s financial sector is resilient at all times. This ensures that financial services 每 be it lending, financing, insurance, takaful, payments, remittances and others 每 can serve households and businesses reliably and fairly.

Corporate Management
The Corporate Management Sector focuses on ensuring the Bank*s organisational effectiveness across three broad dimensions 每 external engagement, organisational development, and operations.
Supervision Graduate Analyst
The Supervision Graduate Analyst track provides you with the broadest exposure to the financial services industry. You will have first-hand exposure to the operations and intricacies of financial institutions, develop strong risk assessment capabilities, and gain a comprehensive understanding of the interlinkages between the financial stability mandate and other mandates of the Bank. Over the course of 18 months, you will be rotated across the Bank*s supervision functions, providing you with the opportunity to engage with industry leaders and experts as well as preparing you for a fulfilling career as a Supervisor.

Supervision Sector
In Bank Negara Malaysia, the role of supervision is to preserve the stability and integrity of our financial system by ensuring the safety and soundness of financial institutions. Using a risk-based supervision framework, we conduct continuous surveillance and risk assessments on financial institutions to ensure that any vulnerabilities are addressed and emerging risks are pre-emptively identified. We also support the development of the financial sector, particularly in the areas of digitalisation, financial inclusion, climate change and Islamic finance.
Digital Graduate Analyst
The Digital Graduate Analyst track provides you with a focused exposure to the central bank*s digital infrastructures and technology resilience in the financial sector. You will be rotated across three of the Bank*s digital and technology teams over 18 months, offering you in-depth experience into digital strategy and operations, IT risk and supervision, as well as data science work.

Digital & Technology Teams
These teams specialise in digital and technological issues, with two broad focus areas. The first focus area is on ensuring that our regulatory and supervisory work is effective in preserving Malaysia*s financial sector resilience against an evolving landscape of risks arising from technology. The second is on ensuring that the Bank makes the most out of technology, aiming to help determine and deploy the right technology solutions and ensure that they remain fit-for-purpose over time.

Application and Assessment Process
Step 1: Submit Application
To apply, submit your academic credentials, previous work and internship experience, and a short cover letter in the application form. Your application should demonstrate the relevant qualities that Bank Negara Malaysia looks for.
In your personal statement, tell us about your motivation to join Bank Negara Malaysia and highlight your skills, experiences, and achievements that would be relevant to a future role here.
Step 2: Pre-Assessment Centre
If your application is successful, you will then take an online psychometric assessment and be asked to answer open-ended questions in a video response.
We would ask candidates to provide a copy of their final academic transcript and other documents at this stage.
Step 3: Assessment Centre
The last stage of our assessment consists of group activities and an individual interview with a panel of Bank Negara Malaysia executives.
Throughout the assessment centre, we will explore your motivations for joining the Bank, your fit with our values as well as your key skills and competencies.
Step 4: Outcome
We will contact you on the outcome of your application around 4 weeks after the closing date. If you are successful, we will request some additional information to complete our screening process. Typically, this would involve a security vetting process and a medical check-up. The expected start date for successful candidates is late April (for April intake) and late September (for September intake).

General

Having completed your studies by 1 April or 1 September, you are eligible to apply for either one of the two yearly intakes (April or September) by submitting your transcript which indicates that you have completed your studies.
Alternatively, if your final results are still pending, you will be given a declaration form to sign, indicating that you will declare your results at a later date.
If you are shortlisted for an interview, you will need to provide proof of your final results as indicated in your application.
The programme is for 18 months. Kijang Graduate participants will be rotated across different departments/functions in BNM.
Yes! There are three tracks.
Graduate Analyst Track 每 Provides you with a holistic experience of central banking work. BNM will equip you with a comprehensive understanding of data science work, IT risk and supervision, and digital strategy and operations through a rotation across three of its digital and technology departments over the course of 18 months.
Supervision Graduate Analyst Track 每 Offers rotational opportunities across various supervision functions within BNM. This provides you with the broadest exposure to the financial services industry. You will have first-hand exposure to the operations and intricacies of financial institutions, develop strong risk assessment capabilities, and gain a comprehensive understanding of the interlinkages between the financial stability mandate and other mandates of BNM. This track allows you to engage with industry leaders and experts, preparing you for a fulfilling career as a Supervisor.
There will be an assessment on the overall performance of the participant. Only performing Graduate Analysts / Digital Graduate Analysts / Supervision Graduate Analysts will be offered permanent employment at BNM.
Graduate Analysts / Digital Graduate Analysts / Supervision Graduate Analysts will be paid as BNM*s executives with competitive salaries and benefits in line with the industry standards.
Successful candidates will be notified within 2 to 3 weeks after the closing date. Due to the large number of applications, we will only communicate with the rest of the applicants once the assessment center has concluded.
We have two intakes a year, typically in April and September.
BNM does not offer a buyout option.
Yes, you can apply as long as you have less than one year of working experience.
Yes, you can resign with one (1) month notice.
Kijang Graduate participants may indicate their interest in up to three preferred departments per rotation. However, placements are not guaranteed, and BNM reserves the right to assign Kijang Graduate participants to any department deemed suitable.
At the end of each six-month placement, both the Kijang Graduate participant and the department will conduct a performance assessment. This assessment will be used as one of the data points to evaluate their potential for permanent positions within BNM.

Yes, we accept applications from candidates with academic qualifications from all fields.
No, we only consider candidates with less than one year's worth of work experience after graduation. However, we encourage those with more experience to explore direct hire roles on our website, Jobstreet or LinkedIn pages.
No, internships, placement year(s) and similar programmes undertaken during the period of your university/higher education will not count toward the one-year post-graduation work experience requirement.
You may apply with expected/ provisional results but you will be required to fill in a declaration form. If you are shortlisted for an interview, we will require you to provide proof of actual/final results as listed in your application on the day of the assessment centre.
No, you will not be able to amend your application post-submission.
After submitting your application, successful candidates will receive a notification from kijang.gp@bnm.gov.my to submit documents for verification one week after the closing date. Subsequently, shortlisted candidates will undergo a Pre-Assessment, the details of which will be communicated at a later time.
