Sasana Kijang

Sasana Kijang, a centre of knowledge and learning excellence established by Bank Negara Malaysia in 2011, embodies the Bank’s commitment for the development of thought leadership and for regional and international collaboration in central banking and financial services. The centre represents the Bank’s continuous drive for talent development through effective learning initiatives as well as creating a conducive environment to promote best practices in central banking.

Sasana Kijang also hosts the Bank's regional and international strategic partners, namely the South East Asian Central Banks (SEACEN) Research and Training Centre, Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB), and Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI). The World Bank Group (WBG) commenced operations at Sasana Kijang in March 2016, and the Asia School of Business (ASB) is temporarily located here pending the completion of its campus development.

The centre’s modern facilities provide an opportunity for learning, research and engaging in discourse with full conference facilities, including a main auditorium, and meeting and conference rooms.

In Sanskrit, Sasana means a meeting point for the learned and wise. When combined with Kijang, the barking deer which is closely identified with Bank Negara Malaysia, Sasana Kijang represents all that is consistent with the Bank and its identity.

Two public services related to informal learning are provided at no cost to visitors:

• BNM Museum and Art Gallery (opens from 10 am to 6 pm). For more information, please visit museum.bnm.gov.my.

F&B facilities available at Sasana Kijang:

• Sasana Kijang Café: Opens Monday to Friday only from 7 am to 7 pm.

  The café offers a tempting selection of local, international or specialty menus.

• Museum Café: Opens daily from 8 am to 8 pm.

  Located within the Museum and Art Gallery, light snacks and drinks are available. The café is closed when the Museum and Art Gallery is closed during the first 2 days of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Parking: Available at LG4 and LG5, at a flat parking rate of RM5.

The Inspiration for Sasana Kijang building

The humble cowrie shell, one of the earliest forms of currency used within the region, is the inspiration behind the architectural design of the building. Incorporated into the building fa?ade are geometric patterns as seen in the traditional Malay songket fabric, denoting the strong collaboration and strategic alliances within the Central Bank community and its partners. The use of transparent materials allowing the free flow of natural light into the building represents transparency and openness.

Lanai Kijang

Lanai Kijang is the Bank`s purpose built residential complex that comes complete with facilities for training, conferences, sports and recreation, providing an excellent environment for formal and informal learning.

The complex complements Sasana Kijang, Bank Negara Malaysia`s centre of excellence in knowledge and learning in Central Banking and Financial Services, and allows invited participants and guests to continue engaging, exchanging thoughts and ideas, sharing experiences and collaborating in a pleasant and comfortable setting.

The many indoor and outdoor lounges and spaces provide the appropriate ambience for continuous learning, group interactions and networking.

Lanai in Bahasa Melayu means a veranda or patio, a place to reflect and learn. Kijang is a distinctive symbol in the Bank Negara Malaysia logo, synonymous with the Bank`s history and accomplishments.
